The current problem regarding pollution and climate change has meant that the environment is on everyone's lips and has raised citizens' concern about the possible consequences of harmful treatment to the environment around us.
Terms such as Sustainable Development, (present development that does not compromise the capabilities of the future to meet their needs), are continuously ringing in the media and the various governments of the world try to establish measures to carry it out.
Being a current issue and that concerns us all, it is important that it be explained and getting us to reach the entire population, so awareness campaigns and environmental awareness are created. Education is essential to achieve the proposed objectives and therefore a discipline arises that is Environmental Education.
Environmental Education is a process that lasts a lifetime and that aims to impart environmental awareness, ecological knowledge, attitudes and values towards the environment to make a commitment to actions and policies that aim at the rational use of resources and power achieve adequate and sustainable development
The objectives of this type of education are:1-Awareness: raise awareness about problems related to the environment.
2-Knowledge: helps to be interested in the environment.
3-Attitudes: acquire interest in the environment and willingness to conserve it.
4-Skills: helps to acquire skills to solve the problem.
5-Evaluation capacity: evaluation of Environmental Education programs.
6-Participation: develop a sense of responsibility to take appropriate measures.
Education has to start as soon as possible because in this way, if children are determined to identify and solve environmental problems at an early age, they can continue with this in adulthood and be able to make a decision, giving possible answers to The problem we have today.
It is also essential that children become aware of the environment and take sustainable habits since the concept of Sustainable Development affects them and they will have to be able to rationalize their resources so as not to compromise those of future generations.
